RIBNOVO, BULGARIA
Have you ever happened to go out of the dull city daily round and suddenly find yourself in a completely different world? Unusual, exotic, difficult to understand and for all that, with a deep inner meaning. The parallel reality is very close from a geographical point of view. Everything in it through the centuries connects and unites people in one invisible magical circle. If you stretch your hand and you are truly interested, it would let you in her colourful carnival, benevolent and hospitable.
Ribnovo is situated in the Western Rhodopes, not far from the town of Gotse Delchev. During most of the year the village is almost empty: the inhabitants (about 3,000 people) are abroad or somewhere else in the country to make a living. At the beginning of the autumn they come back home and this is when the season of celebrations begins.
The Ribnovo, Bulgaria exhibition includes 29 pictures, shot in 2005-2008. They represent the local rituals during the wedding, the circumcision (siunet), the pehlivan wrestling and babuger’s shows. The main purpose of the author Daniel Lekov is to familiarize the audience with one of the few places in our country where the century-old traditions are part of the present life, not an attraction organized for the tourists.

PRISTI ZASTAVKA – PRAHA
The exhibition of the photographer Daniel Lekov and the pottery artist Nadia Teknedzhieva – „Příští zastávka – Praha” (Next Stop – Prague), is part of their project “Next Stop”. Experiment in which the classic b&w silver photography meet with the ceramics, the travels, the impressions, the experiences and all merged into one.
The idea and the title were born in the public transport of Prague. That is why Prague is the first stop of this project and invitation for your “next stop”. The theme for the city and the urban culture is exciting for the authors from a long time ago. The architecture, the streets, the landscape refracted trough the view of the photographer and the artist, expressed in the experimented by them technique.
Facetiously they named her “photo….ramique” – an attempt to merge the visual photograph art with the applied ceramics art, trough one entirely manual process, starting in the ceramic kiln and obtaining shape in the “dark room”. An attempt- the sealed moments to find new life on the treated soil. The soil, which is the main ingredient of cities and roads leading us to various stops.
